The Cottage |

Tucked away half a mile down a country lane and adjacent to the owner's small holding, this lovely 400 year old cottage enjoys an idyllic "Beatrix Potter" type setting where the owner, a celebrated artist, lives and paints.
On the edge of the Lake District National Park (Windermere, half an hour) and close to the Yorkshire Dales, it is surrounded by fields and is ideal for walking and enjoying the peace and quiet.
Beams, flagged floors, stone fireplace, well-equipped kitchen and a four-poster king-sized bed create the perfect setting for any occasion.
The nearest shops, pubs and restaurants are 5 miles away.
Accommodation
Ground Floor: spacious lounge with rugs on a flagged floor, dining kitchen, open staircase.
First Floor: two bedrooms (one draped four-poster king-size bed, one twin), bathroom with power shower over bath, toilet and basin.
Services: storage heaters throughout, open fire, electricity, logs and coal, bed linen and towels provided. Travel cot, high chair, television, video, radio/cassette, cd player, electric cooker, microwave, laundry service by arrangement with owner, garden furniture and barbeque.
Outside: the south facing garden is bordered by a stream, there is a low fence but toddlers must be supervised.
Directions
From the M6 Motorway: Exit at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway to South-Kendal (Town Centre A6).
Continue through Kendal in right hand lane at traffic lights follow signs for Brough A685 & Penrith A6.
Continue until you see signs to Windermere (left) and you take A6 Shap (right) and continue under the railway bridge following the sign to Tebay, Appleby, Brough A685.
On leaving Kendal, Morrisons Supermarket will be on your left (your nearest store). Continue approximately 5 miles to Grayrigg village.
The school and church is on your left, immediately after the church turn left. Continue for approximately 2 miles along the small road until you reach a cross roads (the key is all roads are tarmac!).
Bear sharp right up the hill until you reach two lane ends. Yours is the left hand entrance over the cattle grid, along the lane for half a mile and through the gate, just a few more yards and Agnes Cottage is the first house on the left. You're here!
